Duncraig S.H.S. Bush Rangers W.A. is a Cadet Unit operated as part of the initiative of the Department of Local Government and Communities (Cadets W.A.) and the Department of Parks and Wildlife (Bush Rangers W.A.)
The Unit was been established the inception of the program in 1998 and promotes environmental awareness and self development. It is important for Cadets to understand their responsibilities and roles in the Cadet Unit. We encourage cadets to work cooperatively and communicate freely with us about our activities and their goals.
The Cadet Program can now provide students with:
- Up to three UNITS accreditation towards Year 12 Graduation
- Senior First Aid Certificate can completed by Year 10, 11 or 12 cadets
- Duke of Edinburgh Award can be accomplished through Cadets
- An exciting and engaging program including camps, excursions and incursions
Year 7 Applications are usually due by Friday of Week 1, Term 1 and can be lodged at the Front Office or the Cadet Mailbox outside the Society and Environment Office. Uniform orders and payments are to be made at the Duncraig SHS Uniform Shop. Receipt for uniform to be included with application. Application Forms can be obtained from the Front Office or the Foyer of Society and Environment.
Please Note: Applications will be considered at the 1st Instructors Meeting within a couple of days of applications closing. Do NOT be late with your application. We usually have a Unit of seventy plus cadets with around thirty year 7’s.

Cadets meet once a week in the Duncraig Senior High School Gym, Tuesdays between 3.15pm and 5.00pm. Activities are conducted on site, in local bush areas, venues and facilities, as well as at regional destinations including Moore River, Mundaring and Yanchep National Park.
