Synthesis Film Night Competition

24 August 2017

St Stephen’s School Duncraig in partnership with Edith Cowan University and the Film and Television Institute of WA presented the second Synthesis Film Night Competition last week.

Secondary students in The City of Joondalup who were shortlisted got to see their production on the big screen and demonstrate their cinematography skills with a presentation of the shortlisted films on show at the awards night. The quality of films was very high and the judges were impressed with the standard submitted this year.

In the first year students at Duncraig have entered we are proud to congratulate Alela Tremble in Year 12 for being shortlisted to the finals, with Catastrophe and Ethan Black (pictured above) in Year 10 for taking first place in the Year 10 Best Middle School Production for his very powerful film, A Heartbeat Forgotten.  Ethan took home a $100 JB HIFI voucher, a certificate and a membership to the FTI.

A big congratulations again and be sure to look out for these up and coming filmmakers!
